It is important that passengers arrive at the check-in no later than 30 minutes before the advertised time of departure. All tickets are scanned before boarding. Five minutes prior to the departure, access to the ferry is closed. |
Free parking is available to passengers on the parkinglot by the Laneyjahöfn and Þorlákshöfn harbours. Please note that the ferry‘s operator are not legally responsible for cars parked in these parking lots. |
It is approximately a 2 hour drive from the capital, Reykjavík, to the Landeyjahöfn harbour under favorable conditions. Passengers are encouraged to give themselves plenty of time and to observe the speed limit at all times. Check that your vehicle is in proper condition prior to departure to prevent delays during your trip. The sailing with Herjólfur takes 35 minutes from/to the island. It is approximately 45 minute drive from the capital, Reykjavík, to the Þorlákshöfn harbour under favorable conditions and the sailing itme is around 2 hours and 45 minutes. |

Cancellation more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled arrival time is refundable. Cancellation less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled arrival time is not refundable. The company does not refund in foreign bank transfers. The company charges 500 ISK for changing – and/or cancellation fee |
If the ferry is unable to sail to Landeyjahöfn and sails to Þorlákshöfn, the following journeys are automatically transferred. Journeys Vestmannaeyjar - Landeyjahöfn 7:00 and 17:00 are transferred to Vestmannaeyjar - Þorlákshöfn 7:00 and 16:00. Journeys Landeyjahöfn - Vestmannaeyjar 10:45 and 20:45 are transferred to Þorlákshöfn - Vestmannaeyjar 10:45 and 19:45. |
If journey has been cancelled we recommend contacting us at +354 481 2800 for further instructions and information If your journey has been cancelled you can request a full refund. It is not given that passengers with tickets for cancelled journeys are transferred to the next available journey, since a portion of that journey's capacity may already be booked, for passengers and/or vehicles. |
Dogs are allowed to travel with Herjólfur. If traveling by car, they need to stay in the car while sailing. But if passengers are car-free, they need to be in a cage down on the car deck. |
